The BCS (Mauritius Section)

Established since 2003, its aim is to promote BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and also to promote Information Technology in the country. The section provides a local organisation so as to fulfill the charitable objectives of BCS through meetings and events for the benefit of the members of Institute and the general public.

Mr. Arlapen Sergio FBCS, CITP

Sergio has been working in the IT Industry since the last 20 Years. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and of the Project Management Institute. As a Certified Consultant and MQA Approved Trainer, he is specialised in Project Management, Training and Implementation of Business and Infrastructure Solutions in the public and private sector.
Sergio isAssistant Vice President Business Solutions at TMS(technology Management Services Ltd.. His responsibilities include Business Development, Project Management, Implementation of Business Solutions and development of strategic plans.

Vice Chair

Eddy Tong Sam, Barrister at Law, MBCS

Eddy is dually professionally qualified in both Law and
Information Technology. He is a practising Barrister-at-Law in
Mauritius having called at Lincoln’s Inn, London and at the Supreme
Court, Mauritius. He is also an Accredited Mediator (SPC) and a Legal
Trainer (MQA approved). He is part of the Interjurist – an
International Association of Law Firms. Eddy is also an Information Technology specialist and a member of the professional body – BCS The Chartered Institute for I.T. He teaches Cyberlaw on part-time basis at the University of Mauritius and is an I.T. Trainer (MQA approved)

Deepak Deepchand MBCS

Deepak holds an MSc in Project management and has over 10 years of Professional experince in area of IT and Project Management. He is the Business Services and Customer integration Manager - Sub Saharan Africa. He is also member of the Senior Management Team for DHL (Indian Ocean Islands).

Asst Secretary

Ms Rambissoon Madvi MBCS

With more than 17 years in the Civil Service, Madvi holds the Post Graduate Diploma of the BCS. She is currently attached to the Office of the Solicitor General, Attorney-General's Office, Ministry of Justice, Mauritius.

Mrs Beekharry Ouma FBCS, CITP

Degree in Maths, BA(General), BSc from BCS, PGCE
MSc in Information Technology
MBA with specialization in Information Technology
Previously , Computer Officer at State Trading Corporation before joining Mahatma Gandhi Institute as Education Officer and Head of Computer Department.

Mr Seeballack Vishal MBCS, CITP

Vishal is a BCS degree holder and holds the post of System Analyst at CISD, Ministry of ICT,Mauritius. MBA (General) , Experience in Oracle and Cisco applications. Implementation of the Government Intranet Network , 15 years of experience in the field of ICT.

Mr Boolaky M Iqbal FBCS, CITP

Iqbal holds two honours degrees in Mathematics and in Information Technology separately. He has more that 30 years of experience as Education Officer at secondary and tertiary levels. Iqbal has been the one of the pioneers to BCS courses in Mauritius. He is currently the BCS Regional Manager for Mauritius .

Eric Hoodman MBCS

Head of IT Dept at the Anglo Mauritius Assurance Ltd, Eric has paved his way gradually from an IT Operator to head the same department today. He is among the first few who completed their BCS Part II exams in the early 90's in Mauritius He has a rich experience of both Operations and Management in Information Technology.

Holds an MSc in Computer Science (University of Kent at Canterbury) is a Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 2000.
Previous Experience: Govt Service for 7 years in Telecommunications (Public and Private, mechanical and Electronic Telephone Exchanges}. As Expatriate for 4 years in Saudi Arabia, as Maintenance Technician for Low Current Installations,( Fire Alarm Systems, TV Distribution, PABX, Telephone Distribution, Nurse Call Systems.

Motassim Thupsee MBCS

Senior Hosting Support Engineer at Ceridian, Mauritius. He is responsible for the technical aspects of support, implementation and maintenance of information systems. Database administrators work in relation with this team.
