The BCS (Mauritius Section)

Established since 2003, its aim is to promote the BCS The Chartered Institute for IT and also to promote Information Technology in the country. The section provides a local organisation so as to fulfill the charitable objectives of the BCS through meetings and events for the benefit of the members of the BCS and the general public.

Mr Sookdawoor Rishi FBCS, CITP

He holds an MBA & MSc in Information System and has over 13 years of professional experience in areas of ICT, Project Management, Business Development and Management. He is Senior Vice President at BAI Co (Mtius) Ltd and has the responsibilities of implementing key strategic initiatives and projects of BAI. He also steers the Group ICT function at the strategic level.

Mr Moniaruch Nawab FBCS, CITP

Nawab holds a Honours degree in Chemistry and one in Information technology. He has more that 30 years of experience as Education Officer at secondary and tertiary levels. A close collaborator of Iqbal in the setting up of the BCS(Mauritius Section).

Secretary

Mr Husnoo Khaliq MBCS

Director, Programme Officer, Trainer, Datamatics Computer Centre, since 1995.
Holds an MSc in Computer Science (University of Kent at Canterbury) is a Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 2000.
Previous Experience: Govt Service for 7 years in Telecommunications (Public and Private, mechanical and Electronic Telephone Exchanges}. As Expatriate for 4 years in Saudi Arabia, as Maintenance Technician for Low Current Installations,( Fire Alarm Systems, TV Distribution, PABX, Telephone Distribution, Nurse Call Systems.

Mrs Carim Bacor Naseema

She is an ICT teacher in the Primary School Education. She holds a BCS Professional Graduate Diploma and is also the President of the Union of ICT teachers at primary School level

Mr. Arlapen Sergio MBCS, CITP

Sergio has been working in the IT Industry since the last 20 Years. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and of the Project Management Institute. As a Certified Consultant and MQA Approved Trainer, he is specialised in Project Management, Training and Implementation of Business and Infrastructure Solutions in the public and private sector.
Sergio is a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers Ltd working in the Performance Improvement, IT Effectiveness line of service. His responsibilities include Business Development, Project Management, Implementation of Business Solutions and development of strategic plans.

Mr Boolaky M Iqbal FBCS, CITP

Iqbal holds two honours degrees in Mathematics and in Information Technology separately. He has more that 30 years of experience as Education Officer at secondary and tertiary levels. Iqbal has been the one of the pioneers to BCS courses in Mauritius. He is currently the BCS Regional Manager for Mauritius .

Mr Seeballack Vishal MBCS, CITP

Vishal is a BCS degree holder and holds the post of Senior System Analyst at the Ministry of ICT, Mauritius. MBA (General) , Experience in Oracle and Cisco applications. Implementation of the Government Intranet Network , 15 years of experience in the field of ICT.

Mrs Bholah Shirin MBCS, CITP, ICDL & MOUS Trainer

Currently employed at Charles Telfair Institute. Actively involved in the teaching of IT, Management subjects and in corporate training. She has an intensive experience in systems analysis and development, web design andÂ ICDL training. Shirin is the pioneer member of BCS from Mauritius.

Ms Rambissoon Madvi MBCS

With more than 17 years in the Civil Service, Madvi holds the Post Graduate Diploma of the BCS. She is currently attached to the Office of the Solicitor General, Attorney-General's Office, Ministry of Justice, Mauritius.

Vijay Mauree FBCS, CITP

Vijay Mauree has over 16 years working experience in the ICT Sector and over 8 years of working experience in Information Security. He holds an MBA from Cranfield University, UK, an MSc in Information Technology from Imperial College London and a BSc (Hons) Computer Science with Electronic Engineering from University College London. He has played a leading role in the elaboration of two National ICT Strategic Plans for Mauritius in 1998 and 2007. He chaired the Task Force for the elaboration of the Child Safety Online Action Plan for Mauritius in 2008. He is currently the Manager of the Planning, Research and Development and CERT-MU divisions at the National Computer Board. His interests include public policy issues of Internet Governance, Cyber Security, Open Source Software and Green ICTs.
